‘I’m here…on a mission.’ Caramel brown eyes suddenly engaged hers. She felt alarm feather along her spine. Mission. What a word to use! Her nostrils flared slightly as though in some precognition of danger.
‘I must go. It’s late.’
He had leaned closer and he didn’t move. She felt his breath on her face as he spoke, warm, and smelling of sweet earth and leaves. ‘Even Cinderella had time for a dance. Come on, just one more.’ His gaze held her in a potent lure.

Whatever the underlying friction between the two rulers, they played at genial civility with dexterity. Indeed the attention, the care lavished on the Kamboj family by Deveshwaraya was meticulous. He invited the Kamboj regent to sit on his right side, which was an honor indeed and he had partaken all his meals with the male members of the clan since the beginning of the visit two weeks ago.

Indian princess, Rukmani, finds herself helpless when her family refuses to consider who she wants to marry. Who will she turn to?
